What is a Disneyland Fan?

In this day and age, it is rare to find a teenage girl who still believes in the magic of Disney. The “Happiest Place on Earth” no longer fills most teenagers with wonder and excitement. Those girls who hold the Magic Kingdom close to their hearts, who know all of the moves to its parade, who can quote multiple Disney movies almost word-for-word, may be thought of  as naive or living in the past. The truth is, however, that Disney fans are some of the most enlightened and mature people in the world.
It takes a special sort of person to be a Disneyland fan. Teenage and adult fans must realize that magic, at least the kind in Disney movies, is entirely fictional. This is not so hard to do. The difficult part is seeing and sensing the real magic of Disney. The characters may be only actors in costumes, but once the costume is on, that character is alive. The fans recognize the magic in the characters and help the next generation to experience that same magic. Those who oppose the “trickery” of Disney, who think it is wrong of Disney to make children believe that these characters are real, cannot have seen the joy on a young girl's face when she meets her favorite princess for the first time. The Princess may be an actress in a costume, but the joy in the little fan is real. This is what real Disney magic is, and this is what Disneyland fans, those who work there and those who just visit frequently, help produce.
There are some who think that Disney fans must be naïve and immature. Of course, there are a few who are, but the great majority of Disney fans are far more mature than they are given credit for. When no small children are present, some jokes can be heard coming from the direction of a Cast Member (a Disneyland employee) that could make Mickey and Minnie blush. The number of “that's what she said” jokes uttered at Disneyland on a daily basis cannot possibly be counted. Of course, this is a subject little known about because the fans must keep the appearance of childish innocence around most guests.
Some non-believers like to question the quality of Disneyland itself. Even fans will admit that Disneyland rides cannot compare to Six Flags or Knott's Berry Farm rides in terms of excitement. Rather than roller coasters and quick thrills, monotone landscaping and soulless decorations, fans find enjoyment in is the atmosphere of Disneyland: the characters, the many lands to explore, the secret pathways and not so secret clubs, the friendly personalities and wacky antics of the Cast Members, the seemingly random performances which take place throughout an average Disney Day, the playful parades, mind-blowing fireworks, and the one-of-a-kind Fantasmic all contribute to the Magic of Disneyland. There is nothing that can compare to the Happiest Place on Earth.
Fans of Disneyland are not simply people with too much free time or people who never want to grow up. On the first day Disneyland opened, Walt Disney declared, “To all who come to this happy place, welcome. Disneyland is your land. Here age relives fond memories of the past, and here youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future. Disneyland is dedicated to the ideals, the dreams, and the hard facts that have created America, with the hope that it will one day be a source of joy and inspiration to all the world.” Disney fans across the world strive to continue Walt's legacy, to inspire the next generation of Disneyland fans, and to experience the magic themselves. We fans accept that  we may grow up, but we know that in Disneyland, dreams always come true. We  hope that we are ever afraid to Dream, Imagine, Celebrate, Believe in Disney Magic, and proudly proclaim “I'm going to Disneyland!”
FINAL DRAFT
Didn't edit a lot. My teacher didn't mark it up a lot, and she said there wasn't much that needed to be fixed ^_^

In english we had to write a paper on a label that may be looked down upon. I chose Disneyland Fan, because it fits the most with me, and while it doesn't exactly have a negative connotation to it, some people think it's silly and maybe not as important as it is to some of us Disneyland Fans.
I know not all Disneyland fans feel exactly the way I do about the magical land, but whatever.
Oh, and here's a disclaimer: We all know the characters are actually real, and not played by actors ever, but I wanted to seem like a credible source, and most people simply do not believe that the characters are real, even though they so totally are ;)
I've showed it to some of my fellow Disney fans, and they all seem to like it, so I decided to post it up here.
I used "they" instead of "I" or "we" because my English teacher has frowned upon the use of persona pronouns in the past, and I just wanted to be safe.

I have to say, this honestly made me tear up and smile. I am 21 and my friends are respectively 22. Tomorrow were going to Disneyland! The magic never stopped for us and each time we go, thanks to those expensive passes, we get to experience something new each day. My friend actually met the voice actors to Peter Pan and Wendy and when they said "hello lost girl" in their respective voices she started to tear up. Magic never goes away despite our age : we all collect the gear, bawl at every sad moment in the movies, sing disney songs when we were stuck on the rides, and go dress up every halloween as our favorite princess just to hang out and be apart of the magic. I love this paper and Im glad others love disney for the inspiring place it is.
